So what should I tell you about week 1. Well the big news is.................. I lost 8.2 lbs. So I am now 280.2. I am only 11.8 lbs from my 1st month goal of 20 lbs. I have worked out everyday for the past week, and I can really feel it! Matt and I are doing this together for the most part, He is eating healthier and working out with me. He just really hasn't been keeping track of the points.
So what is the key to success with Weight Watchers? I think its planning stuff out. I have been premaking my lunches for the week on Sundays and planning out our whole menu each week. I also know that I have a lot of stuff coming up this month with my birthday and that means a lot of cake, so to make it easier on myself..............I requested different things.
To break this down for you........... I get 43 points a week and 42 extra points a week. A slice of cake with icing is 24 points alone. So I made the decision to request Angel Food cake, its only 4 points a slice for my birthday with Matt's side of the family and my mom is making me Jello Pretzel Salad and its probably between 5 and 10 points. Still both are way less than one slice of cake. By doing this I am able to stay on Target. Does this mean I wont be eating any cake for my birthday? NOPE, on my actual Birthday Matt is going to take me to Gigi's cupcakes and I am going to get 1 cupcake to eat. And that's all I need. The best part is there is no leftovers and nothing to tempt me to eat more. Other things I have planned out, our instead of going out to Mexican My mom is make taco's at her house and I am picking up my favorite salsa from Chuy's. This way I can use baked tortilla chips instead of fried and not be tempted by all the extra yummy extra fatty foods.
So that kind of gives you an idea of what I am doing to try and stay on track. So I took some pictures of different things I ate this week and all were super yummy. And super easy to make and keep track of.
So from top to bottom: Brushchetta, 3 Turkey Meatballs, and Spiraled Butternut Squash 5 smart points, Mini Pizza's on Multi grain English Muffin 9 pts, Taco Salad with Turkey Meat, Fat Free Sour Cream, and Baked Tostitos 15pts. And for a snack rice cake, with peanut butter and strawberries 3 pts.
Now there are ways to make the Taco Salad less points, omit the olives, less cheese, and less chips are some ways. But I had a bunch of points to use that evening, so that's what I put on it. I don't feel cheated on this diet at all. I am just having to pick and choose what I want. This last week we didn't eat out at all. This week our Bestie Ryan brought us Potbelly Sub sandwiches Sunday for the Super Bowl and I was able to plan it out and see how many points it would be. It was 17 pts and no mayo added to it, but it was delicious and just what I wanted. Matt and I are trying hard not to eat out a lot, and to really cook yummy healthy foods at home.
So for working out we are doing the simply fit board, It is a lot of fun and super easy. Last week we did 10 min workouts each evening and every other night I did and additional 50-60 sit ups. Let me tell you my ABS have been killing me. The nice thing about the 10 min work out is it's fast, but you are also using weights and working your arms, core and legs. Starting today we have upped our work out to 16 min. I think we are going to alternate this week, with 10 min and 16 min work outs. I am trying to gradually increase so I don't over exert myself and give up.
So that is just a small preview of whats been going on. I look forward to updating you all on each week and how things are going for us. I did forget to mention last week but one of the best things about this is that my sister has also started Weight Watchers with me. She lost 6.2 lbs this last week and I am so proud of her. We are working hard to achieve our goals and we are looking forward to what each week holds.
Until next time.......... Faith, Love, Pixie Dust and ME!

You rock!
